2005 Peacemaker Awards

Peacemaker Awards for 2005 were given to Herman Stuempfle and Rajmohan Ramanathapillai. The ceremony was held on Monday, April 18, at 7 p.m., in the Eisenhower Room at the Adams County Library in Gettysburg.

This year the Board of the Interfaith Center decided to bestow both a Lifetime Achievement Award and an award for an achievement during the past year. Herman Stuempfle, former President of Gettysburg Lutheran Seminary and a founding member of the Gettysburg Martin Luther King Celebration Committee and the Adams County Human Relations Council, received the Lifetime Achievement Award. Raj Ramanathapillai received the Peacemaker Award for his work in organizing the “One Boat at a Time” tsunami relief effort.
