Adams County Heritage Festival

It’s not too soon to circle your calendar for Sunday, September 21, when the 17th annual Adams County Heritage Festival will take place at the Gettysburg Recreation Park. Although the program is not yet complete, some performers are definitely in the works, including “Simple Gifts,” a women’s group from the State College area; “Tin Kettle,” a three-person Irish band including local musician John Winship; bagpiper Rodney Yeaple; and “Reveillons,” a French Canadian group from Quebec. So far, we’ve been awarded a Star Grant from the Adams County Arts Council and will also benefit from ACAC’s PennPat grant to bring “Simple Gifts” here. We’re hoping that several other grant proposals will pan out soon! Lots of exciting children’s programs, ethnic food vendors, and craft demonstrators are currently being lined up. We will also be issuing invitations to non-profit exhibitors in the near future. If you would like to help with Festival planning or volunteer for one of many tasks on the day of the Festival, call Festival Chair Bill Collinge at (717) 334-0752.
