LIU #12 Adams County Literacy Council Offers ESL Tutor Training Workshop

Become part of a unique and vital group in Adams County helping adults learn to read and speak English. LIU #12 Adams County Literacy Council students in waiting need your assistance. Join the Council for its next ESL (English as a Second Language) training workshop on June 20, 21, and 22 . Under the guidance of Jan Powers and Rosie Bolen, you’ll learn about books, games and activities to help your students shop for groceries, find information at the library, make phone calls, or visit the doctor. Workshop pre-registration is required by noon, Wednesday, June 18. Act 48 credit is available. A $25 registration fee covers the cost of a resource book chock full of lesson plans and activities and other take-home materials. The Literacy Council also welcomes people interested in filling in for college students over the summer or working in teams to help establish or sustain classes at churches and community centers across the county.
