“Carbon Footprint” is Peace
Camp 2008 Theme
The ICPJ’s annual Peace Camp for 2008 will
be “The
Carbon Footprint Peace Camp.” This year campers will discover:
- Why protecting the environment helps promote peace
- Why polar bears matter
- Whether the rain forest could keep the world healthy
- How to locate vampire appliances in their homes
- And much MUCH more!
Peace Camp 2008 will be held from June 16 - June 20, 9 a.m. to
3 p.m. each day. All children ages 6 to 12 are welcome. Teens are
welcome–and encouraged!–to attend as Junior Counselors.
A light snack is served each morning. We ask for a $5 snack/registration
fee per family, automatically waived in cases of need. Registration
is required; space is limited, and we cannot accept walk-ins. A
registration form can be found here.
Peace Camp is directed by Denise Weldon-Siviy with assistance
from experienced educator Sabrina Paxton-Daily. For more information,
or to volunteer, email peacecamp@icpj-gettysburg.org .
