Unitarian Universalists to Meet

The Unitarian Universalists of Gettysburg meet twice a month, on the second and fourth Sundays, at 3:00 p.m. On Sunday, December 14, the service will be held in McCreary Hall 101 at Gettysburg College, with children’s religious education in McCreary 109. The speaker will be Gary Collison, Professor of American Studies and English, Pennsylvania State University, York, on the topic, “Our Shakespeare and our Luther: Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882).” A potluck will follow the service, along with a handmade ornament and gift sale.

On Sunday, December 28, the service will be held at the Trinity United Church of Christ building, High and Stratton Streets, Gettysburg. The Rev. Ronald B. Crawford, Pastoral Minister, Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Frederick, will lead the service. The children will perform a play, “A SPIRITual Christmas.” Refreshments will follow the service.

On Sunday, January 11, 2004, the Rev. John T. Morehouse, minister of the UU Congregation of Frederick, will speak on “The Necessity of Respect.” His sermon will look at the nature of respect in the spiritual search.

On Sunday, January 25, 2004, Rev. Crawford will speak on “The Historical Jesus Comes to Church”
